GRACE A national NGO, Khulna Launches “Child Development and Life Skills Education Centre” in Botiaghata Khulna, 10 September 2026;

With the aim of nurturing children beyond conventional academic education and developing them through moral values, life skills, health and nutrition, creativity, environmental awareness and other essential competencies, GRACE (Green Resilience and Cooperation for Ecosystem) a local NGO has launched the “GRACE Child Development and Life Skills Education Centre” at Kachubunia village in Jolma Union of Botiaghata Upazila, Khulna.

The initiative has been launched to contribute to the holistic development of children and help them grow into knowledgeable, skilled, responsible and compassionate citizens of the future.

Around 150 people, including local children, parents, teachers, social workers and community representatives, attended the inaugural event held on 10 September 2026.

Speaking at the event, participants and speakers emphasized that children's development cannot be ensured by limiting education to conventional or textbook-based learning alone. Alongside formal education, children need opportunities to learn and practice morality and values, health and nutrition, life skills, creativity, environmental awareness and social responsibility.

The speakers said that introducing children to human values and social responsibility from an early age, alongside knowledge and practical skills, can help them become responsible citizens and enable them to make meaningful contributions to their families, communities and the country in the future.

They appreciated GRACE for undertaking such a timely and community-oriented initiative and expressed their commitment to extending cooperation and support to the activities of the education centre.

Md. Shariful Islam, representing GRACE said, “The GRACE Child Development and Life Skills Education Centre has initially started its activities with 20 children. However, the initiative will be expanded in the future. Alongside institutional support for children’s education, the center will conduct various activities focusing on ethics and values, health and nutrition, life skills, creativity and sports, climate change, and environmental awareness. Another GRACE representative, Md. Sakib Hossain, was also present at the event.

Local teacher Samp Rarani Halder said that through this initiative, children will have an opportunity to move beyond an examination-oriented education system and develop themselves through knowledge, skills, moral values and creativity, helping them become responsible citizens capable of contributing positively to society in the future.

GRACE believes that investing in children's knowledge, character, skills and values from an early age is essential for building a more capable, responsible and resilient generation.
